Day 1: Nairobi – Samburu
Depart Nairobi for Samburu National reserve driven through central Kenya region to the semi-arid northern Kenya. Due to the dry climate, grasses are sparse, making animals easier to spot. Meanwhile, the Ewaso Ng’iro River, which borders the reserve, provides a year-round water supply. These two factors make for a great game-viewing experience. After lunch, enjoy an afternoon game drives where you have the chance to see rare animals you will not see in other parts of the world. “Special 5,” this includes Grevy’s zebra, reticulated giraffe, Somali ostrich, Oryx Beisa, and the gerenuk, a long-necked antelope that feeds while standing on its hind feet. DAY 2: Samburu
Full day explore of Samburu reserve. Large numbers of elephant and Nile crocodile can be seen, as well as waterbuck, Kirk’s dik-dik, and Grant’s gazelle. There are predators like lion, cheetah, and leopard which are spotted. The reserve is also a great place for bird watching, with over 300 species. During your afternoon game drive, you can also opt to visit the Samburu village and learn the Samburu community way of life. Dinner and Overnight
Day 3: Samburu – Nairobi
Early morning breakfast will be followed by en-route game drive as we head back to Nairobi. Stopover for lunch can be done (your cost) before proceeding with the journey back to Nairobi to be dropped at a place of your choice.
